Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the treatment and care of psychiatric patients under the supervision of providers, leadership, or RNs.
  • Perform various duties to support the established methods and procedures of Psychiatric Services Inpatient Unit.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
  • Document patient care observations and report any deviations from the patient's plan of care.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Health or mental health care experience preferred.
  • Certificate in mental health technology or related field, such as licensed nursing assistant, preferred.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association required.
  • Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification required within 1 month of hire.

  • Excellent interpersonal and observation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and think and act effectively in high-stress situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
