Licensed Vocational Nurse Night Shift Position

Job Summary:
Passages Inc is seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our night shift team. As an LVN, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and performing incidental medical services. Key Responsibilities:
• Assess client current health condition and identify health problems and/or needs
• Perform physical assessment including vital signs of clients in detoxification
• Perform incidental medical services
• Monitor client detoxification level using the Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment (CIWA) scale
• Perform instant/rapid read alcohol and drug screens
• Complete documentation in the client chart in a thorough, timely, legible, and accurate manner
• Assess client for medication side effects, including adverse drug reactions
• Ensure all medications are locked safely and retrieved for self-administration by client
• Observe and monitor self-administration of medication by clients
• Provide safe and effective care for clients identified to be at risk of injury to self or others
• Communicate effectively with outside physicians and other appropriate parties in order to plan, deliver, and evaluate care
Requirements:
• Current, valid License in Vocational Nursing in good standing with the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
• Associate of Science in Nursing or LVN Nursing Certificate from an accredited program
• Current, valid California Driver License with good driving record (as determined by the Company) required
Work Environment:
This position works an Alternative Workweek Schedule of 12 hour shifts, 3 days per week alternating with 4 days per week. Travel between company locations in Los Angeles and Ventura counties is required as company needs dictate. This position requires occasional driving as duties dictate, which may include transporting clients.
