Job Summary

The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative electronics systems and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex electronics systems and circuits using Verilog or VHDL.
  • Develop and simulate logic designs, and synthesize logic designs.
  • Design and layout Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) for extreme environments.
  • Design, test, and maintain Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
  • Maintain Linux workstations and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software installations.
  • Supervise and train undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Deliver on research objectives and help set future research goals.
  • Write technical reports, grant proposals, and papers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in electronics design or a related field.
  • Proficient communication skills and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of complex electronics design and advanced understanding of components functionality.
  • Knowledge of electronics design, from schematics to layout.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of design software and design programming.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and move about the workplace for long durations. It also requires effective communication, the ability to operate machinery, tools, and controls.

The role requires the ability to ascend/descend ladders/stairs, and to position oneself in low-level positions, detect a variety of chemicals and/or gases.

The role requires the ability to ascend to rooftops and move in tight spaces to perform and complete inspections.
