About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Department team at Animal Emergency of University Park. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Use your knowledge of common diseases and conditions to accurately triage incoming patients and provide appropriate care.
  • Administer medications, set up and monitor IV fluid therapy, and perform advanced diagnostic techniques such as ultrasonography and paracentesis.
  • Participate in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care and be trained in CPR.
  • Collect samples, perform diagnostic tests, and provide nursing care tasks such as placing and maintaining urinary catheters and nasogastric tubes.
  • Set up and maintain oxygen cages and administer oxygen to patients as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician, preferably in emergency medicine.
  • CVT certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
