Job Title: Pediatric Mental Health Care Coordinator

Job Summary:

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Pediatric Mental Health Care Coordinator to join our team in the Department of Psychiatry at Dell Medical School. The successful candidate will work in an inter-professional model, collaborating with pediatric psychiatrists, psychologists, and other licensed professionals to identify the long-term psychological needs of individual patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble information concerning patients' clinical background and referral needs.
  • Connect students and families to community resources for long-term care, providing ongoing support and facilitation to ensure effective transition.
  • Oversee internal and external communication related to patient's clinical services, discharge plan, and school collaboration among team members, patients, and guardians and school staff.
  • Develop and deliver TCHATT trainings for new hires and school staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience working in a healthcare or educational setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Able to prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks/demands simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of managed care, medical terminology, patient referral process, claims, and CPT coding.
  • Experience working with pediatric behavioral and mental health patient populations.

Salary Range: $47,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions:

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Occasional weekend, overtime, and evening work to meet deadlines.
