About the Position

Clemson University's Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer with an anticipated start date of Fall 2024 or earlier. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in mechanical engineering on the main campus of the University and possibly some teaching at innovation campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach up to four courses, or equivalent, per semester and actively contribute to the department's undergraduate teaching mission.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Engage in departmental service and participate in departmental meetings and committees.
Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. or master's degree with at least 10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. The candidate must have a passion for teaching and communication skills to motivate students in a dynamic, interactive environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise and interest in teaching fundamental mechanical engineering courses with an emphasis in the broad subject areas of thermodynamics, fluids, mechanics, design, manufacturing, or dynamic systems and controls.
  • Experience in aerospace, robotics, power generation, HVAC, or other industry experience.
  • Demonstrated record in engineering pedagogy.
