**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Ascension St. John Medical Center. As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assess patient needs and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available programs
  • Assist with care, calibration, and maintenance of equipment
  • Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment
  • Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls

**Requirements**

  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist certification
  • Advanced Life Support certification
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification

**Education**

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience
  • Associate's degree/Technical degree
  • 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
