As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will provide essential therapeutic services to students in need, assessing their needs, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, and working closely with school staff and families to support students' academic and functional success.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' needs and develop tailored therapy plans.
- Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom setting.
- Direct Therapy Services: Deliver direct therapy services focused on motor skills, sensory integration, and adaptive techniques.
- Training and Education: Develop and lead training sessions for educators and parents on strategies to support students with various needs.
- Progress Tracking: Track and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- IEP Development: Contribute to the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and attend related meetings.
- Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Georgia.
- Certification: Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
- Experience: Experience working with children in school or educational settings is highly desirable.
