Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Opelousas General Health System. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our retail pharmacy operations and ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Management
    • Assist in maintaining accurate records of medication inventory and disposition.
    • Rotate stock to ensure use before expiration date.
    • Identify and replace outdated and unusable medications.
  • Quality Improvement
    • Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
    • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
  • Customer Service
    • Process retail prescriptions and ensure payment prior to patient discharge.
    • Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Education and Training
    • Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing education and training programs to maintain competencies required for the position.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pharmacy Technician certification (PHA) required.
