We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Data Specialist to join our team at OPCO Skilled Management. This role will be responsible for timely and accurate completion of the RAI process, care management, and MDS coding.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to assess resident needs and provide schedules for MDS assessments.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of resident information into computerized MDS programs.
- Complete accurate coding of the MDS with information from medical records, observations, and resident/family interviews.
- Work with the Interdisciplinary Team to assess resident needs and provide schedules for MDS assessments.
- Coordinate daily stand-up meetings to review resident care and set assessment reference dates.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding RAI process completion and coordination.
- Maintain current MDS status of assigned residents and ensure accurate documentation in medical records.
Requirements:
- A graduate of an approved RN program and licensed in the state of practice.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred.
- An excellent knowledge of Case-Mix, Federal Medicare PPS process, and Medicaid reimbursement.
- A thorough understanding of the Quality Indicator process, OBRA regulations, and Minimum Data Set.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, our benefits package includes 401(k), dental, health, life, and vision insurance.
