Position Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in diagnosing, rectifying, and maintaining machinery and fixtures essential for daily operations and product launches.
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis on newly implemented or modified equipment and perform annual recertification as necessary.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control and Root Cause Analysis to address and prevent issues as required.
  • Deliver root cause evaluations and corrective measures for both internal and external quality concerns.
  • Redesign or enhance equipment and tooling to boost efficiency, lifespan, or minimize overall costs with the support of Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Instruct and mentor hourly staff and new employees on operational procedures and process steps.
  • Support the introduction of new products and machinery.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to review component and final product designs for manufacturability challenges that arise during production.
  • Maintain essential documentation such as Production Validation Plans, Flowcharts, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Sheets to meet production standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred experience with Friction, GMAW, and MIAB welding techniques.
  • Experience with Propshafts and High-Speed balancing operations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Minitab (or similar statistical software) is beneficial.
  • Ability to apply the Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology for continuous improvement and adherence to commitments.
  • Proficient in utilizing the 8D problem-solving framework to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong technical and interpersonal abilities for effective customer interaction.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimal travel is anticipated; overtime may be necessary during new model launches and other critical periods.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred, with a focus on Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical disciplines.

This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule. All Manufacturing Engineering Technicians must be flexible with shift assignments.
