We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at Commander, Navy Installations. As a Police Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities and personnel.

• Conduct physical security checks of buildings or facilities during assigned shifts to ensure the safety and security of personnel and assets.
• Protect crime scenes and gather evidence in accordance with mandated procedures to aid in the investigation and prosecution of crimes.
• Conduct investigative stops on violators of traffic laws and regulations to ensure compliance and maintain public safety.
• Control access to secure areas by verifying the credentials of individuals and vehicles to ensure only authorized personnel have access.

• One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Issuing citations in violation of law enforcement regulations.
  • Conducting investigations related to critical incidents, such as traffic accidents, domestic violence, assaults, child abuse/neglect, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Interviewing witnesses to gather information about incidents.
  • Conducting inspections of vehicles to detect the unauthorized removal of classified material, government property, contraband, weapons, explosives, or any items detrimental to security.
• For the GS-05: Successful completion of a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position.

This position requires rotating shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
