At Portsmouth Regional Hospital, we offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As a Critical Care Nurse Specialist, you will provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients on our 15-bed Cardiac Stepdown Service Unit (CSSU).
Your primary responsibility will be to create and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient, working closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
With your expertise in cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures, including pre and post cardiac caths, pacemakers, TEEs/Cardioversions, open heart surgery, ablations, TAVRs, groin management, strokes/TIAs, traumas, sepsis, COPD, CHF, AFib exacerbations, detox, and general med/surg telemetry overflow and IV maintenance, you will make a significant impact on patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions as appropriate using computerized documentation systems.
- Instruct and educate patients and family members on various aspects of their care.
- Coordinate discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Registered Nurse (RN) License in NH or valid Compact State License.
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross).
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia within three months from hire.
- NIH Stroke Scale within 45 days of hire.
