Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

TMC Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of critical FBI IT systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing hands-on engineering and administration support for our RHEL infrastructure, ensuring the uptime, performance, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and support for RHEL infrastructure, including Linux/RHEL System Administration/Installation, reviewing logs, and system documentation.
  • Design, develop, and recommend integrated system solutions to ensure the protection of proprietary and confidential data and systems.
  • Support the project lifecycle for AWS cloud infrastructure and technology projects, including developing and maintaining secure authentication service requests using Kerberos.
  • Provide support for ongoing Java development leveraging Apache Tomcat hosting.
Requirements
  • US Citizen and active Secret clearance required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working in RHEL 8/9 environments.
  • Experience in Tomcat, Applications management, and operating system upgrades.
  • Experience in supporting AWS infrastructure implementation/administration, including AWS IAM, VPC, EC2, EBS, EFS, RDS, S3, Management Service (KMS), ELB, Auto Scaling, Security groups, ACL, Cloud Trail, and Cloud Watch.
  • Analyzing security requirements and applying latest security patches to ensure that each resource or system has the proper resources allocated to it.
  • Experience with test-driven development using Agile methodologies, with SAFe Agile preferred.
  • Knowledge and expertise on tools such as Grafana, Splunk, PEGA, Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, and Bit Bucket.
