Position Overview:

The Telecommunications Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring effective communication within the healthcare environment. This position is responsible for managing the hospital's telecommunication systems and providing exceptional service to all callers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the hospital's telecommunication switchboard, efficiently handling both incoming and outgoing calls with professionalism.
• Welcome callers with a warm and courteous demeanor, establishing a positive initial interaction with the healthcare facility.
• Accurately direct calls to the relevant departments, clinics, or personnel, ensuring seamless communication flow.
• Address inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff, offering information regarding hospital services, visiting hours, and general assistance.
• Maintain an updated directory of hospital personnel, departments, and extensions to provide timely and accurate information.
• Assist during emergency situations by promptly connecting calls to the necessary emergency response teams.
• Facilitate internal paging requests for hospital staff, physicians, and other personnel as needed.
• Monitor and respond to alarms and emergency codes, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with various hospital departments to ensure effective communication during critical situations or emergencies.
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations when managing sensitive patient information.
• Perform administrative duties such as data entry, updating call logs, and generating reports as required.
