Essential Job Functions- Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients.
- Participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care given.
- Performs admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Reviews and modifies the plan of care under supervision.
- Observes and records patient signs, symptoms, and behaviors.
- Delivers designated nursing interventions to assigned patients.
- Notifies nursing and medical staff of patient status changes.
- Follows physician's orders in delivering nursing care.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Administers medications and treatments safely and properly.
- Executes written physician's orders for assigned patients.
- Assembles equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures.
- Adheres to infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Documents nursing care in patient records.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structures.
Located within the confines of a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
Requirements- High school or equivalent.
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
- No experience required.
- Current BLS-HP required.
- Will consider recent graduates with temporary permits.
