Position Summary: We are in search of a proactive and seasoned Senior Quality Engineer to become a vital part of our team. This role is essential for refining our quality management systems and ensuring our suppliers adhere to stringent quality benchmarks. The Senior Quality Engineer will oversee incoming inspections, manage product evaluations, and spearhead cross-departmental teams to guarantee smooth product operations and ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster Continuous Improvement: Guide facility teams to cultivate a culture of ongoing enhancement.
- Supplier Relations: Work collaboratively with sourcing, procurement, and corporate quality teams to set and uphold supplier standards and goals.
- Quality Issue Management: Direct initiatives to address supplier quality challenges and oversee internal product audits and nonconformance resolutions.
- Quality Assurance Oversight: Supervise the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and manage the qualification of new components through the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
- Data Management: Coordinate the collection of supplier quality, rework, and scrap data to support Cost of Quality metrics.
- Audit Execution: Conduct and oversee audits and evaluations of processes and quality systems (ISO, internal audits, etc.).
- Data Evaluation: Collect and assess product data to lead initiatives aimed at minimizing defects.
- Inspection Management: Assist Quality Leads in prioritizing inspection activities and developing/modifying inspection sampling strategies based on supplier performance.
- Product Traceability: Support the identification and traceability of products, ensuring the integrity of testing and inspections (MSA/GR&R).
- SAP Proficiency: Serve as a SAP Super User within the designated functional area.
- Standards Implementation: Develop and implement standard tools, methodologies, and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting with expertise in APQP (Control Plan & PFMEA).
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, particularly in a manufacturing or supplier quality context.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven understanding of manufacturing/quality metrics and their practical application.
- Certified Quality Engineer or Technician.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Certified Quality Auditor.
- Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead collaborative teams in a dynamic environment.
