Job SummaryThe PRN Nurse is responsible for assessing patients' medical needs, monitoring medications, administering and tracking TB skin tests, monitoring random drug screens, and assisting medical providers as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Completes medical screening and/or assessment of new patients immediately upon admission according to level of care procedures.
- Monitors medication process for individuals living in residential facilities, including supervision of medication distribution and self-administration process.
- Prepares Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Provides ongoing patient education (group and individual) regarding medications.
- Implements and monitors procedures for random urine drug screens to ensure each individual is screened as appropriate.
- Participates in weekly staff and clinical meetings.
- Cross-trains and supports other areas as needed or requested by supervisor.
- High School Degree or GED required.
- Unencumbered State of Michigan LPN license.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in psychology/psychiatry or related field preferred.
