Job Summary
As an ER Technician with CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason, you will play a vital role in delivering patient care and performing clinical procedures within the scope of your licensure under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Provider.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Assist with observation of patients, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs
- Respond to emergency situations and provide timely support
- Assist with patient transport and transfer, ensuring safe and efficient movement
- Contribute to the maintenance of department equipment and supplies, adhering to safety and risk management standards
- Support clerical and communication tasks to enhance patient care and outcomes
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma (or GED equivalent) and completion of one of the following programs:
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program
- Paramedic (EMG) program
- Medical Assistant program
- Certified Nursing Assistant program
- Licensed Practical Nurse program
- Military Hospital Corpsman program (with validation)
- Completion of one year of nursing school
At hire, you must have one of the following current and recorded by the Washington State:
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Washington State Nursing Commission
- Current registration as a Registered Nursing Assistant (RNA) by the Washington State Nursing Commission
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant-Cert (MAC) by Washington State
- Current Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Employees with a CNA or RNA license at the time of hire must submit an application to the Washington State Department of Health for Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy (MA-P) certification within 90 days of hire, evidenced by a proof of payment receipt. Certification must be received within 6 months of hire in the position and maintained as current thereafter in addition to their CNA or RNA license. At hire, current healthcare provider BLS certification is required.
