Patent Litigation Attorney

Samsung US IP Center in Silicon Valley seeks a talented patent litigator to manage patent infringement matters at its Mountain View, California location.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage outside counsel in patent litigation matters
  • Coordinate internal document collection and production
  • Oversee witness preparation for depositions, hearings, and trial
  • Develop winning litigation strategies and tactics
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing briefs, motions, and court pleadings
  • Manage litigation costs, including e-discovery and outside counsel fees
  • Advise management and internal teams on patent law-related issues
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor with 5 or more years of patent litigation experience
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on conflict resolution
  • Broad range of patent litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, arguing dispositive motions, jury trial/bench trial, arbitration, and mediation, and e-discovery
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate successful, complex pre-litigation and litigation strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team across countries, regions, and business units, including the ability to be diplomatic and culturally sensitive
  • Background in engineering a plus
  • Ability to converse in Korean a plus
