Job Description

Salary: $68,000 - $95,000

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; successful graduation from a recognized Mammography Technology course.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support
  • Current or temporary license from the Texas Medical Board (MRT) is mandatory
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)
  • Registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Ability to assist and move patients safely while performing job responsibilities. Principal Accountabilities

  • Conducts mammography imaging examinations on patients while adhering to all radiation safety protocols. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, explaining the process, administering contrast when necessary, positioning patients correctly, selecting suitable imaging techniques, and ensuring the technical quality of the images.
  • Records and monitors patient information accurately.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on mammography equipment and may assist with the application processes for ACR and other accreditations.
  • Identifies and communicates any incidents, complaints, or equipment issues to management.
  • Participates in emergency on-call duties as required.
  • Ensures safe care for patients, staff, and visitors by following all organizational policies, procedures, and standards while managing time, supplies, productivity, and service quality effectively.
  • Encourages personal professional development by fulfilling mandatory and continuing education requirements and skills competency; supports departmental goals that contribute to the overall success of the organization; serves as a mentor and resource for less experienced colleagues.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
