Bus Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bus Driver to join our Transportation Services team at Stafford County Public Schools. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school-related activities, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey.

• Transport students to school-related activities in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate and maintain all related equipment, including buses, two-way radios, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits.
• Maintain accurate records to support work activities, including trip reports, trip books, and maps.
• Provide substitute school bus driving services when not scheduled for field trips and athletic trips to fulfill minimum weekly hours guarantee.
• Support and demonstrate core values of Transportation Services, including professionalism, safety, and customer service.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Three years of CDL (P & S endorsement) driving experience.
• Valid Class B commercial driver's license with P and S endorsements and air brakes.
• First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Satisfactory driving record with no convictions of driving under the influence, refusing to take a blood or breath test, or felony convictions within the past five years.

The work environment is indoors and outdoors, with moderate noise, temperatures that are subject to extreme cold or hot, and frequent exposure to chemicals or other negative air quality elements. The work is medium work, requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds of force to move or lift objects.
