Job Title: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Intern

Job Summary:

Vitality Unlimited is seeking a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Intern to work with clients enrolled in treatment for substance abuse or addiction problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of substance abuse and related issues, as well as the ability to facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions for clients under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Assess client attitudes and progress regarding treatment, self-esteem, social adjustment, and family issues.
  • Maintain accurate client records as required by Vitality Unlimited and the Substance Abuse Prevention Treatment Agency (SAPTA).
  • Develop treatment plans for assigned clients after review of social, medical, psychological, and drug histories.
  • Assist assigned clients in aftercare planning.
  • Document client's progress in the Electronic Health Record within a twenty-four-hour period.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-service training as scheduled.
  • Ensure that assigned clients are informed and follow living skill's development rules.
  • Comply with state laws regarding child abuse reporting.

Requirements:

  • Must provide certification at time of employment.
  • A valid Nevada Driver License and proof of insurance.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
