Pioneers Medical Center Physical Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Pioneers Medical Center. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping our patients achieve optimal health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Evaluate patients upon initial encounter to assess impairment and current condition to estimate rehabilitation potential.
  • Plan physical therapy treatment programs for each patient, based on the assessment, including training in functional mobility, use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination retraining, massage, heat, and cryotherapy.
  • Apply diagnostic and progressive muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.
  • Direct and aid patients in therapeutic regimens. Delegate routine care to supportive personnel as appropriate.
  • Act in a supervisory role to ensure proper execution of tasks.
  • Collect data necessary for Medicare billing and explain the Medicare billing process to patients and families.
  • Adapt conventional physical therapy techniques to meet the needs of patients unable to comprehend verbal commands or voluntarily carry out a regime of therapeutic exercises.
  • Conduct and participate in training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
  • Evaluate, record, and report on patient progress for review by other members of the rehabilitative team.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, other members of the rehabilitation team, and others as indicated regarding treatment plans and patient responses to plans.
  • Counsel patients and families according to degrees of disability or impairment.
  • Complete all required documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. Participate in continuing education programs to ensure appropriate units are attained for maintenance of State licenses.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines as outlined by the facility and report unsafe equipment, areas, practices, etc., as required by policy.
  • Adhere to the standards and policies of the corporate compliance program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and report to a designated manager (or employer hotline) any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices.
Requirements:
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of physical therapy and hold a valid physical therapist license in Colorado. A Master's Degree in Physical Therapy is required, and a Doctor in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a working Physical Therapist is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to perform the extensive and comprehensive duties required to provide physical therapy.
  • At minimum, be able to communicate in English (read, write, and speak).
  • Be able to work independently and proactively.
  • Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Compensation:

$51.26 per hour.
