Job Summary
The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist will be responsible for providing clinical services to patients, including history and physical examinations, interpreting patient data, developing treatment plans, and writing orders for laboratory studies and consultations.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct clinical services to patients, including performing and recording history and physical examinations, interpreting pertinent patient data, developing and documenting a treatment plan, and writing routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays, and consultations.
- Makes suggestions to Department Director and/or attending staff that may be beneficial to the improvement of the department.
- Participates in Performance Improvement, Research, and Publishing.
- Teaches medical students and residents as part of their training.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
- A current state medical license and be in good standing with the medical board.
- American Heart Association BLS certification, maintained throughout employment.
Requirements
This is a part-time position with variable shifts. The ideal candidate will have exceptional clinical, research, and teaching skills, with a commitment to academic pediatrics. They should be able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families, and colleagues, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
