Job Summary

As a Radiology Imaging Supervisor at Atrium Health, you will play a critical role in directing and supervising the technical and support staff in the Radiology area. This position requires a high level of expertise in operating various imaging equipment and troubleshooting sophisticated procedures. You will also be responsible for supervising MRI technologists in their day-to-day work activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and organize patient flow throughout the department, prioritizing procedures and adjusting workloads as needed.
  • Supervise complex procedures and ensure efficient patient throughput and departmental operations.
  • Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
  • Teach new procedures and keep technical staff informed of changes or developments.
  • Evaluate technical and support staff performance.
  • Provide documentation and reports on equipment/supply needs, physician requests, and routine operational issues.
  • Address physician or patient complaints in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high level of technical proficiency and knowledge in system management, advanced applications, and current modalities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or procedure problems with follow-up to service engineers, managers, and physicians.
  • Regulate equipment quality control tests and make necessary adjustments.
Requirements

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a formal AMA-approved Technology program, and BLS certification. Registry with either the NMTCB or ARRT and 5 years of previous supervisory experience are also necessary. Prior experience in CT Technology, Radiology, and Ultra Sound is required, as well as 3 years of experience with data processing and tomographic applications. The ability to perform in a busy, high-tech setting is essential.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, and kneeling for diagnostic procedures. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and gripping may be necessary for positioning and moving patients or equipment. Vision and hearing for distances of at least 20 feet are required. May be required to carry up to 25 pounds while moving film jackets, stocking supplies, or relocating equipment. 50% of the work time will require standing, and 50% will be operating computers and equipment, requiring manual dexterity and the use of hands. Precision manual dexterity is necessary for venipuncture and precise laboratory or pharmacy procedures.
