Job Opportunity: Assistant Public Defender I or II
The GeorgiaGov Public Defender's Office is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Public Defender I or II to join our team. As a key member of our office, you will be responsible for providing exceptional legal representation and advocacy to indigent clients in serious, high-profile, and significant felony and appellate cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide competent and zealous representation to clients in felony and appellate cases
- Assist in cases of routine complexity and perform beginning to mid-level professional legal work
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective case management and client outcomes
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations to provide the best possible representation
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university
- License to practice law in the State of Georgia or eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination followed by Georgia Bar exam passage and licensure to practice law in the State of Georgia within one (1) year of hiring or reciprocity and one (1) year of relevant legal experience
