Job Summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Grain Elevator Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of grain and grain products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grain Handling Operations: Assist in the unloading, loading, and transferring of grain and grain products via barge, truck, and rail operations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure it is in good working order, and notify management of any necessary repairs or concerns.
  • Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by displaying courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable interaction with customers.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to achieve operational goals and objectives.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role operates in an outdoor environment, exposing you to grain dust, weather elements, and heavy truck and machinery activity. You will be required to stand, walk, use hands to handle equipment, and reach with hands and arms. Additionally, you must be able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, handle heights up to 150 feet, and work in all weather conditions.

Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in grain handling or a related field.
  • Skills: Ability to work safely, knowledge of grain handling equipment, and excellent customer service skills.
