We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paraprofessional I to join our team at Fallbrook Union High School District. As a Paraprofessional I, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers and students in achieving academic success.
Job Description / Essential Elements:Definition:
Under the direct supervision of a teacher, the Paraprofessional I will assist in preparing instructional materials, supervising students, and relieving teachers of routine clerical and non-instructional duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Equivalent to two years of college in a field related to the instructional area, with experience working with students and the ability to type.
Typical Tasks:
- Prepare classroom materials and bulletin boards.
- Listen to and drill students in reading, spelling, mathematics, and other subjects.
- Perform routine clerical and record-keeping activities, such as taking roll, collecting monies, filling out forms and applications, and correcting papers.
- Set up and arrange supplies and equipment in the classroom for student use.
- Administer tests and supervise students as needed.
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Perform general clerical tasks, such as typing, filing, and answering the telephone.
- Operate audio-visual equipment and perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Run errands for the teacher and assist students with work in the auto shop.
Supervisor:
The Paraprofessional I will report to the teacher assigned to the classroom.
Overtime Status:
Non-exempt.

Experience:
Experience working with handicapped youth or special education students is highly desirable. Ability to use a computer is required.
Education:
Must meet the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act.
