Job Summary

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing diagnostic and rehabilitative services to patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Services: Analyze results of diagnostic testing to establish patient goals and modify treatment programs.
  • Rehabilitative Services: Select and apply current and advanced techniques to provide quality and efficient speech-language-swallow rehabilitation services.
  • Patient Education: Provide counseling and feedback to patients and family members regarding patient care through team meetings and direct contact.
  • Supervision and Education: Supervise graduate speech-language pathology students and clinical fellows, and educate health professionals in the area of specialty.
  • Program Development: Develop or contribute to innovative programs to enhance patient care, and serve as a resource consultant to other clinicians in the specialty area.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain valid and reliable records of patient procedures, progress, and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • Experience: One year of relevant experience or completion of a one-year clinical fellowship.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Administer complex diagnostic tests and evaluations of speech, language, and swallow disorders.
Work Environment

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. This is not a State employed position.
