About the RoleWe're seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Western NM South Correctional Facility in Grants, NM. In this role, you'll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care through the nursing process. You'll also direct and guide patient teaching activities and ancillary personnel, maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Responsibilities- Assess physical, psychological, and psychosocial dimensions of patients within the healthcare unit and housing units.
- Apply knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases using available resources to obtain health histories and assess patients.
- Provide leadership to RNs, LPNs, MAs, CNAs, and other nursing paraprofessionals in patient care related to medical aspects of patient care.
- Review and monitor offenders receiving medications, maintain charts and records, and utilize therapeutic communication skills to elicit pertinent historical information and make appropriate referrals.
To qualify for this role, you'll need:
- A current, valid New Mexico Registered Nursing License.
- CPR Certification.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Degree (required) or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience, with correctional nursing experience preferred.

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
