Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Property Risk Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive analysis on various property types, including residential, commercial, agricultural, and farm properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of diverse property types, assessing risk factors related to location, property use, environmental exposure, and other relevant criteria
  • Develop and refine risk categories based on analysis, ensuring alignment with company risk management policies and industry standards
  • Collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams to translate risk categories into pricing models for new business, renewals, and existing portfolios
  • Define risk areas and tolerances, providing clear recommendations for risk mitigation and management strategies
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations that summarize findings, risk categorizations, and pricing recommendations for internal stakeholders
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks that may impact property valuations and risk assessments
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, sales, and claims, to ensure that risk assessments are accurately reflected in pricing and policy decisions
  • Ensure that all analysis and data inputs are accurate, reliable, and compliant with regulatory and company standards
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in property analysis, risk assessment, underwriting, or a related field, with a strong understanding of the insurance industry
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in data analysis tools, statistical software, and risk modeling techniques. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed recommendations
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of analysis and reporting
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus
