About the Role

The Natural Resources Team Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of our natural resources, including forestry and landscaping. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of natural resource engineers and the County Arborist. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that development plans comply with all federal, state, and local natural resource policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage staff performance, provide regular feedback, and complete performance appraisals.
  • Set and evaluate team priorities to ensure achievement of County and departmental goals.
  • Mentor and lead less experienced staff in routine work or special projects.
  • Review land development applications, permits, and forest management plans for technical accuracy and quality.
  • Evaluate environmental issues related to development and conservation of forested areas and buffers.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, or Forestry, and at least four years of related professional engineering and construction management work experience. One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
