The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Automation Technical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our automation team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our automation solutions in large core clinical laboratories.

Your primary job function will be to serve as the subject matter expert and provide automation hardware solution implementation services. This will involve leading a localized team of service specialists to provide on-site services, including receiving and accepting product shipments, transporting to laboratory locations, assembling and testing automation solutions, and turning over the solution for informatics implementation.

You will also be responsible for utilizing and developing consulting strategies and tools to increase automation solution strategies for long-term customer partnership commitments. Additionally, you will apply your advanced technical automation, service, and analyzer knowledge to facilitate efficient and customer-centric implementation services within the clinical core lab environment.

As a key liaison between the customer, local field service, and ADD project manager during the implementation phase, you will provide supplemental automation product training to the local field service team during the hardware implementation. You will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of our quality system and adhering to and promoting our Abbott Code of Business Conduct.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain automation solutions in large core clinical laboratories
  • Lead a localized team of service specialists to provide on-site services
  • Develop and utilize consulting strategies and tools to increase automation solution strategies
  • Apply advanced technical automation, service, and analyzer knowledge to facilitate efficient implementation services
  • Provide supplemental automation product training to local field service team
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of our quality system
  • Adhere to and promote our Abbott Code of Business Conduct
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering or computer science
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of formal instrument and/or automation field service experience
  • Strong knowledge of general automation systems, instrument, or product field service experience
  • Demonstrated successful customer service performance
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflow and operations
  • Experience with ADD's instrument systems
  • Excellent communication, organization, project management, consulting knowledge, and attention to detail
