Facilities and Grounds Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Cemetery Operations Manager at Service Corporation International. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong background in cemetery maintenance, facilities management, and team leadership.

• Cemetery Maintenance
  • Oversee the operations of multiple cemeteries, ensuring that services exceed customer expectations.
  • Coordinate staff work and time-off schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and minimize overtime.
  • Manage grounds keeping, landscaping, and seasonal plantings to present a welcoming and manicured appearance of properties.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and wildlife regulations.
• Facilities and Grounds Management
  • Source and select vendors, procure, store, and maintain sufficient inventory of tools, materials, equipment, and lawn treatment.
  • Review and approve invoices for payment.
  • Maintain equipment in proper working order.
• People Development
  • Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team.
  • Understand team members' career aspirations and provide assignments to develop skills and close gaps.
  • Constructively address issues and provide timely, appropriate feedback.
• Business Development
  • Develop annual operating budgets, personnel budgets, and management expenses to achieve budget.
  • Plan for equipment replacement.
  Requirements
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience
    • At least eight (8) years of cemetery maintenance experience with increasing responsibilities.
    • At least two (2) years of supervising and managing staff.
    • Environmental regulatory compliance experience.
    • New Construction/capital expenditure developmental experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Demonstrate knowledge of environmental regulations as applicable to the industry.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of wildlife regulations as applicable to the industry.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of staff and public safety regulations as applicable to the industry.
