Lab Technician

At American Castings Co., we are seeking a highly skilled Lab Technician to join our team. As a Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our iron castings.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate Spectrometer to analyze samples and ensure they meet specifications.
- Start-up, standardize, and run samples on ARL 3460 and Baird DV6 backup as required.
- Provide furnace chargebacks for production and conversion to and from gray iron.
- Check chemistries on all iron grades to ensure they are within specification.
- Turn and pull all test bars as needed.
- Inspect and receive steel deliveries as required.
- Keep all samples properly marked and correctly placed in rack.
- Perform other work as instructed by supervisor.
- Thorough understanding of Lab record keeping and reporting requirements.
- Cross training to perform line tech duties as needed.
- Ability to receive training to perform all sand lab tests and lab tests in the lab.
- Knowledge of safety rules that apply to the safety of others and to personal safety.
