Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. As a Vascular Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams to evaluate the vascular system, including the arteries and veins.
Key Responsibilities- Perform peripheral vascular studies, including Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI), upper/lower extremity venous/arterial duplex, segmental pressures, carotid, abdominal aorta, MI, and renal ultrasounds.
- Provide individualized, direct care to assigned patients, ensuring the highest quality personalized patient care.
- Maintain a positive work relationship with the healthcare team, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
- Stay up-to-date with state and federal guidelines, maintaining knowledge and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assess situations, consider alternatives, and choose appropriate courses of action, especially in times of need or emergencies.
- Participate in activities for professional development, maintaining required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, and communicating effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of peripheral vascular experience preferred.
- Active Registered Vascular Tech (RVT)/Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) registration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of JCAHO, OSHA, ICAVL, and other State and Federal guidelines.
- Ability to assist patients in positioning and preparing for exams.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work efficiently under pressure.
