Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned control panel technician with 5+ years of experience in the installation and maintenance of control panels and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical safety regulations and procedures, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure seamless operation of the facility and equipment through efficient facility management.
  • Assist with machinery changeovers for different projects.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Replace mechanical wear parts as needed.
  • Read, interpret, and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications.
  • Test electrical equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Install, repair, and/or replace AC/DC motors, drives, starters, or relays.
  • Install, repair or replace electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, support structures, and fiber-optic or lighting systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems.
  • Install electrical circuits, panels, conduits, and devices in compliance with NEC standards.
  • Correct wiring and connections on equipment controls.
  • Mentor, coach, and manage Electrical Apprentice employees as needed.
  • Supervise a team of 4 maintenance technicians.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in engineering or a similar discipline, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a control panel technician, repair manager, or in a related role.
  • 5+ years of experience in the installation and maintenance of control panels and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for control panels and electrical systems.
  • Understanding of electrical safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as needed.
  • Food manufacturing experience is highly sought after.
