We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care in our Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to a patient population that includes complicated Neuro-Surgical Procedures, such as Brain and Spine, Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Strokes, Neuro-Interventional and Endovascular Procedures, Brain Tumor and Gamma Knife Treatment, etc.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered nursing care and participate in patient and family education.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers, and patient care support staff to create and implement a care plan to meet each patient's needs.
- Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
- Coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain cultural and diversity awareness when interacting with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 1 year of critical care experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
