Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our Food and Consumer Products (FCP) division at SSOE INC. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on nationwide projects, collaborating with an international team to deliver exceptional results.

Job Summary:

The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for preparing engineering design work for bid and construction packages on projects including controls and power scope based on process, packaging, and utility systems. This role will also support business development, client relationships, and mentoring of junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and direct the scope development, design, PLC/HMI programming, checkout, startup, and optimization of control systems for process, packaging, and utility systems in the food industry.
  • Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems, practices, and methods and may create and refine unique design solutions.
  • Represent the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a medium to large engineering project or a number of smaller complex projects with overall responsibility for discipline budget adherence, schedule adherence, quality control, and inter-discipline coordination.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
  • PE, or PE-tracked preferred, plus two (2) or more years of experience with SSOE as an Engineer 4 or the same educational, certification, and registration requirements as above with eight (8) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s).
  • Programming experience utilizing Allen-Bradley software required.
  • Ideally in the food and consumer product industry or related sanitary environments.
  • Wonderware experience preferred.
  • Experience working on-site, and within industrial facilities required.

  • Salary Range: $110,000-$125,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
