Job Description

About the Role:

HSL Asset Management LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical integrity and safety of our apartment communities, providing a comfortable and secure living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and Maintain Apartment Communities: Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues, ensuring the overall condition of the community is maintained.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance and Repairs: Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work, to ensure the community's systems and equipment are functioning properly.
  • Assist with Grounds Maintenance: Assist in keeping the community's grounds clean and free of litter, including raking, sweeping, shoveling, and removing large items as needed.
  • Schedule and Perform Preventive Maintenance: Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on all equipment, appliances, and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Understand Maintenance-Related Aspects: Understand all maintenance-related aspects of the community, including utility meter cut-offs, apartment and fixture cut-offs, sewer cleanouts, maintenance shops, and storage areas.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Knowledge of pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations governing the proper storage and management of hazardous materials, including solvents, flammables, caustics, and Freon.
  • Inspect and Report Inventory Needs: Inspect, report on, and help coordinate inventory needs and any apartment preparation, repairs, and services, assisting fellow staff as required to meet deadlines.
  • Assume Additional Duties: Perform any additional duties assigned by your supervisor and assume all maintenance responsibilities in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school diploma or equivalent education or accredited vocational school certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Maintenance: At least one year of experience in apartment or building maintenance, property maintenance, construction trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.), and/or related fields.
  • Background and Pre-Employment Screening: Background and pre-employment drug screening will be required.
  • Reliable Transportation: Reliable transportation for use in business-related tasks and duties as assigned, including a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
  • EPA Certification: EPA Certified for Refrigerant preferred, or willingness to obtain certification (paid by HSL) within 180 days of hire.
