Nurse Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Nurse Educator to join our team at St. David's HealthCare. This role is responsible for enhancing professional practice and providing quality patient care in the NICU and Pediatrics specialty.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs to promote professional competency for nursing and inter-professional staff in the NICU and Pediatrics setting.
- Conduct orientation and onboarding programs to ensure a positive learning environment and promote employee retention.
- Assess learning needs and develop activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill, and practice.
- Collaborate with the clinical education team to evaluate and adjust educational programs based on evaluations and feedback.
- Participate in lifelong learning and utilize novice to expert continuum when developing staff.
- Monitor practices and operations to assess compliance, risk, or exposure, and communicate key performance indicators for clinical education service line within the division.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or other clinical field required.
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or other clinical field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in clinical education required.
- 3+ years' experience in nursing specialty in an acute care hospital required.
- Currently licensed as appropriate to education in the state of practice in accordance with law and regulation required.
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) required.
- Specialty certification as recognized by the American Nurse Credentialing Center required.
- Certification as NPD Practitioner highly preferred.
