Position Summary
As a Physician Assistant within our clinic, you will be instrumental in guiding patients towards their weight loss objectives through customized care, consultations, injection therapies, education, and ongoing support. This role presents a valuable opportunity to significantly influence the lives of patients while collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals and enhancing the effectiveness of our innovative weight management programs.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough evaluations of patients' medical histories, current health conditions, weight-related issues, and personal goals.
- Work alongside supervising physicians and other healthcare providers to create personalized weight loss strategies that cater to each patient's specific needs and medical circumstances.
- Execute procedures such as administering injections, prescribing medications, and managing medical devices essential for weight management.
- Provide medical advice and counseling to patients regarding injection therapies, behavioral modifications, and medication management for weight loss and maintenance.
- Regularly monitor patients' progress through follow-up consultations, tracking changes in weight, body composition, and overall health, and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal results.
- Maintain precise and current medical records, documenting patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and relevant communications with other healthcare professionals.
- Support patients' health and wellness by offering encouragement, resources, and guidance to empower them in achieving their weight loss objectives.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- State licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Expertise in conducting comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments related to weight management.
- Capability to develop personalized treatment plans based on patients' distinct needs and medical conditions.
- Prior experience in primary care, health and wellness, urgent care, or a related specialty with an emphasis on weight management is preferred.
- Dedication to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care with empathy and respect.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the establishment of rapport and trust with patients.
- Demonstrated understanding of weight management principles, medications, nutrition, and behavior change techniques.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and productivity.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Willingness to stay informed on the latest research, guidelines, and advancements in the field of weight management.
- Passion for promoting health and wellness and assisting individuals in achieving their weight loss goals.
Compensation:
The salary for this position is influenced by various factors, including the candidate's experience, education, job-related skills, and market considerations. Adjustments may occur based on geographic factors, contingent upon specific job requirements.
Work Schedule:
This position is scheduled for Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, with no on-call, overnight, or weekend shifts required.
Work Environment:
This role necessitates an on-site presence at the clinic.
