Key Responsibilities
The LPN will provide essential bedside care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, adhering to the scope of practice. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in patient assessments by gathering relevant data for RN analysis.
- Administering medications and monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
- Conducting routine laboratory tests and delivering basic therapeutic services.
- Educating patients and their families about treatment plans, self-care post-discharge, and available resources.
- Ensuring patient safety by identifying hazards and responding appropriately to emergencies.
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification:
- Current BLS certification required within one month of hire.
- Licensed Practical Nurse credential from the state nursing board required prior to hire.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent, or one year of relevant work experience.
Preferred Skills
Experience in long-term care settings is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and the capability to accurately document patient care.
