Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Merchandise Handler to join our team at Impact Workforce Solutions, LLC. As a key member of our distribution team, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and shipping merchandise in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate high-reach equipment and cherry pickers to unload merchandise from trailers and verify goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Utilize high-reach handling equipment to stack and prepare cartons and other containers for outbound shipment, and efficiently stock shelves with received goods.
  • Maintain and verify records of goods received or shipped, leveraging high-reach equipment to optimize the flow of merchandise through the distribution center.
  • Safely and proficiently operate cherry pickers and other material handling equipment to move merchandise, and use pallet handlers, hand trucks, and small hand tools as needed.
  • Select and pick products for shipment using computerized store order requests, employing high-reach and cherry picker experience to match inventory to order numbers accurately.
  • Prepare merchandise for shipping, applying shrink wrap machines or other devices, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Use mobile handheld or hands-free RF devices to scan and track materials, ensuring accurate inventory management.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support production, emphasizing proficiency with high-reach and cherry picker operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 0-1 years of experience, preferably in Distribution, Warehouse, Supply Chain, or similar industry, with a strong emphasis on high-reach and cherry picker operations.
  • Committed to adhering to all safety processes and protocols, particularly those related to high-reach and cherry picker equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy in inventory management.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and recognize moving objects and warning signals, especially in a high-reach environment.
  • Ability to meet productivity standards in a high-paced distribution setting.
  • Consistent, punctual attendance in accordance with Company policy and the ADA.
  • Willingness to be trained and licensed/certified by the Company to operate high-reach and cherry picker equipment, alongside other material handling tools.
Work Environment
  • Predominantly based in a distribution warehouse environment, with potential exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
  • May encounter chemicals routinely present in warehouse settings.
  • Requirement to wear personal protective equipment, including safety gear suitable for high-reach and cherry picker operations.
