Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain programs, adhering to policies and patient care delivery standards of care in assigned departments.
  • Lead the delivery of patient care services on the shift to assure patient-centered care needs are met and quality, cost-effective care is delivered.
  • Serve as a behavioral role model and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles.
  • Act as a nursing clinical subject matter expert.
Leadership and Management
  • Function as a mentor and coach.
  • Assist with preparation of unit schedules.
  • Establish daily work plans for team of employees.
  • Schedule staff for attendance at and completion of mandatory education.
  • Maintain current staff certifications per regulatory requirements.
  • Guide peer interviewing process in the selection of unit staff.
  • Provide input and feedback to the nurse manager in regards to team performance management.
Fiscal Management
  • Assist in development and achievement of departmental budgets and goals.
  • Assist with payroll activities such as monitoring timekeeping.
  • Effectively manage material and supply usage.
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Specialty certification (ex: CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred.
