**Job Title:** Security Officer

We are seeking a skilled Security Officer to join our team at Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, a premier meetings and resort destination.

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees, as well as protecting hotel property and assets. Your duties will include performing Security Office, Employee Entrance, and Patrol operations according to the Standards of Performance Manual for Security Officers.

In this role, you will also thoroughly understand all Hotel Emergency Response Procedures and respond appropriately to situations. You will monitor and control access to all facility employee entrances, ensuring only authorized individuals enter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Security Office, Employee Entrance, and Patrol operations according to the Standards of Performance Manual for Security Officers.
  • Thoroughly understand all Hotel Emergency Response Procedures and respond appropriately to situations.
  • Monitor and control access to all facility employee entrances, ensuring only authorized individuals enter.
  • Maintain a visitor sign-in/out log and issue temporary passes to visitors/vendors.
  • Inspect packages entering and exiting through facility employee entrances, deny access to unauthorized materials, and confiscate and turn over to management any unauthorized materials.
  • Verify that all materials leaving the facility are accompanied by a completed, signed package removal pass.
  • Patrol front-of-house, back-of-house, and exterior hotel areas, reporting safety or security hazards, unacceptable behavior, or suspicious persons to Security Supervisor for direction and resolution.
  • Prepare maintenance requests for safety-related maintenance requirements identified.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras, radio communications, and Fire Control Computers.
  • Document security-related issues and assistance provided in appropriate Security reports.
  • Log, store, and return lost and found items according to hotel policies.
  • Enforce hotel rules and regulations according to the Employee Manual and hotel policy.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with hotel key control policies among all employees.
  • Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Respond to guest and employee incidents, gather information, secure areas if necessary to preserve evidence.
  • Complete daily reports according to the Safety Security Manual.
  • Operate departmental vehicles, including electric personnel transport vehicles, pick-up trucks, and bicycles.
  • Assist in collecting and distributing employee uniforms and paychecks.
  • Document after-hour storeroom entries, reason for entry, and ensure proper requisition obtained for all items removed.
  • Assist other hotel employees in applying Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control policies.
  • Answer department phone lines in a prompt and courteous manner according to Loews hotels standards.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Minimum two years previous Security department experience preferred at a similar quality property.
  • CPR certified.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
