Job Title: Corrections Health Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Corrections Health Nurse to join our team at Lincoln County. As a Corrections Health Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive health maintenance, preventive, and primary medical care to adult inmates in a county corrections facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care to inmates, including administering medications, conducting physical assessments, and developing treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate referrals to community resources.
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
  • Respond to emergency situations and take charge of the scene until EMTs arrive.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and activities to further the health of the community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a law enforcement background check and psychological assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a RN in a correctional setting.
  • Knowledge of public health laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and analyze health problems.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a potentially hazardous and life-threatening environment, with exposure to communicable diseases and violent behavior. The successful candidate must be able to maintain composure and professionalism in these situations.
