Job Summary
A non-exempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties in various ambulatory settings, including primary, multi-specialty, and specialty practices. This role may involve both clinical and administrative tasks, including assisting healthcare providers with patient care, handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks, and providing information to patients to ensure they can fully utilize and benefit from our clinical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including taking vital signs, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), and administering injections.
- Handle clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing examination rooms, and ordering supplies.
- Provide information to patients to ensure they can fully utilize and benefit from our clinical services.
- Maintain working knowledge of regulatory standards and ensure compliance in daily operations.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office.
- Experience with electrocardiograms (EKGs), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection procedures.
- Epic experience preferred.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
License/Certification
- Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and current certification from a recognized certifying board approved by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association.
