Job Title: Millwright

West Fraser, Inc. is seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team in Angelina, TX.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Millwright to work in our sawmill. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, including conveying systems, machine centers, and other machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Read and understand technical drawings and instructions
  • Work safely under high-pressure situations and be a self-starter
  • Have a basic understanding of mechanical systems and be able to troubleshoot issues
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Adjust tension on nuts and bolts and position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb tools
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools
  • Layout mounting holes and drill holes with a power drill
  • Replace defective parts and adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts
  • Level bedplate and establish centerline using straightedge, levels, and transit
  • Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience as a Millwright in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene) and welding experience (GMAW and SMAW)
  • Must be safety-oriented and comply with ZES
  • Be willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and be on-call to support 24/7 operations
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
